There are many different forms of transportation when it comes to travelling. It all depends on what type of holiday or trip you are taking, and how quickly you you want to get there. For example, if you were looking specificaly to go on a cruise, the the obvious option for transport would be a cruise ship. However there are various other ways to travel, here are a few examples.
There are three main types of air travel, low cost, schedule and charter. easyJet is a privatley owned low cost airline, which means that there are no extras included with the price you pay for the flight. You are required to pay additional costs for things such as luggage, food and seats on the plane. These flights can only be booked over the internet, and once they have been officially booked, you cannot change it. Scheduled flights are aimed mainly for business people who need to travel to different cities. British Airways are an example of a scheduled airline. Finally Charter flights are mainly for holiday makers. They travel at set periods of time, e.g. 1 or 2 weeks, which means that they will fly on time, regardless of the amount of passengers on board. They often fly at un-sociable hours, so either very early in the morning or late at night, which means the flights are cheaper. Things like luggage are included; also you can pre order your meals before you fly, Thomas Cook is an example of a Charter airline.
Virgin trains are one of the most experienced train companies in Britain, also they are very well know because the brand 'Virgin' is recognised and respected world wide. They have been around for 12 years in total, travelling at top speed to and from all destinations around the country.
National Express are a privatley owned well recognised coach company that also specialise in working with the major UK airports. It is the largest scheduled coach provider in Europe. They are always trying to improve their customer service by doing things such as, offers on coach cards, passes. discounts and cheap fares. They operate to over 1000 destinations, carrying around 18 million customers each year.
P&O ferries are the UK's largest privatley owned ferry operator, with around 15 ships altogether. There are a variety of facilities onboard, they carry more than ten million passengers a year, from families going on holiday day, business travellers, to children on school trips. They have some ferries which allow you to take your car onboard meaning you have the freedom to explore, also you can pack your car with as much luggage as you need. There are various facilities onboard these ferries, such as fantastic entertainment, a wide choice of bars and restaurants, amazing shopping areas and spectacular sea views.
